8 oz tomato puree
1/4 Tsp onion powder
1/2 Tsp garlic powder
3/4 Tsp dried Italian seasoning
1/4 Tsp white sugar
1/4 Tsp honey
Combine the above ingredients into a small bowl. Stir well. Add salt and pepper to taste. A splash of olive oil may be added. Cover and allow the sauce to mature in the refrigerator for a day or so.
Dried oregano may be substituted for Italian seasoning, and tomato sauce for the tomato puree. This sauce has a myriad of applications: pizza, stromboli, meatball, sausage, steak sandwiches, etc.
